Our Client Care Representatives

Rowan (she/her) joins us having just moved from Ottawa. Having been born and raised in B.C she is excited to be back in this beautiful province.

Prior to joining Paws on Fraser Veterinary Hospital, Rowan gained her veterinary experience at a busy clinic in Ottawa where she was quickly promoted to head receptionist due to her exceptional organizational and communication skills. As a veterinary receptionist, Rowan has found a career which allows her to combine the things she loves most - meeting and working with people and being with animals. She has loved animals since she was a child, and is very grateful to work in a field that lets her incorporate this into her everyday work life.

Rowan currently does not have any pets of her own, but grew up with family dogs her whole life. In adulthood she has found a deep love for cats as well and is on the lookout to adopt a cat of her own very soon.

Outside of work, Rowan loves going to music events and festivals with her friends, spending time outside and also curling up on the couch with a good snack and Netflix. Rowan is looking forward to getting to know all the pets and clients at Paws on Fraser.

So excited to introduce you to Nick (he/him). He will likely be the first face that greets you and your pets as you walk through our doors. In case he looks like someone you have met before, he does join us with over 10 years of client care experience in the veterinary world having worked for the neurology department at Canada West Veterinary Specialists and West Coast Dental Veterinary Services.

Prior to entering the veterinary world, Nick was in the theatre industry as a designer and technician touring Ontario with festivals, concerts and conventions. Wanting a change of pace and scenery, Nick and his partner packed up in 2017 and moved to BC and has been enjoying working with pets and their owners ever since. He is proud to be part of a team aimed at the betterment of our precious furry family members and is enjoying being back in general practice where he can support owners and their pets from their very first vet visit to their last.

In his spare time Nick enjoys video games, going to music concerts and baking.  However as a proud first time dad of a gorgeous baby girl, ‘spare time’ is not currently in his vocabulary. Somehow though Nick still manages to find time to whip up batches of his wicked chocolate chip cookies for the team at Paws on Fraser to enjoy!

Trina (she/her) joins our team as a friendly and caring client care representative. As a resident of East Van for over a decade, Trina loves connecting with the vibrant neighbourhood community of dedicated pet parents she has met through her two dogs.

Having heard positive things about Paws on Fraser through her pet community, Trina boldly reached out to see if there were any job opportunities. The owners of the hospital, Drs Yuen and Kong, were impressed with her cover letter and resume, and despite not having a job opening, decided to extend an interview. It was clear during the meeting that Trina embodied the care, respect, compassion and team work that is so important to the culture of Paws on Fraser that the owners hired her.

Trina joins the team with experience as both a veterinary assistant and receptionist. She has training in animal handling and patient care through Ozarks Technical Community College and has a particular interest in learning how animals communicate through body language. Helping animals feel safe and fear free—especially during potentially stressful clinic visits—is something she cares deeply about.

At home, Trina shares life with her partner, Mike, along with a bossy rescued chihuahua cross, Riley, and a bouncy and hilarious Boston terrier–pug, Sushi. Outside of work, you will find Trina out on the trails or  beach with the dogs, curled up with a fantasy novel, checking out local music, or planning her next travel adventure.

Fun fact: Trina used to sing in a band! While she has traded in the stage lights for clinic lights, Trina still loves to perform and is always game to belt out a power ballad at karaoke.
