Our Registered Veterinary Technologists

Born and raised in Vancouver, Kristine (she/her) graduated from the University of British Columbia in 2016 with a major in Psychology and a minor in Biology. After adopting her pug, Dutch, she realized her passion for animals which led her to pursue a career in the veterinary field.

Kristine graduated in 2019 from the Douglas College Veterinary Technology (VTEC) program in the top 10% of her class and received both proficiency and distinction awards during her 2 year program. She has been working as a Registered Veterinary Technician ever since. Her favourite aspects of being a technician include ensuring patient safety under anesthesia, dentistry and the challenge of getting a blood sample or catheter in those tiny dog and cat veins.

When not working, Kristine enjoys a good charcuterie board, traveling and spending time with her pug Dutch, cat Patrick and husband Eric. We are excited to have Kristine part of our team!

Kristine - Registered Veterinary Technologist

Chris (she/her) joins our team as a registered veterinary technologist. She started her formal post secondary education at UBC where she received a degree in Applied Animal Biology. During her undergraduate degree she did a co-op placement at the Wildlife Rescue Association in Burnaby taking care of injured and orphaned wildlife and continued to work there full time post graduation. It was through this work that Chris realized her love for taking care of animals and decided to pursue her diploma as an RVT.

When an RVT position opened up at PAWS, our OG RVT, Kristine, reached out to Chris and touted our laurels. Happy to be reunited with her former UBC and Douglas College classmate and to work in a privately owned hospital, we were able to snag Chris. We are lucky to have gained a skilled and caring RVT.  As a technologist, Chris enjoys anesthesia the most. She enjoys how each case is tailored individually to each pet’s condition. As a part of the team, Chris’ quirky sense of humour fits right in with the rest of the crew.

At home, Chris is mom to a rescued cat named Earl. Despite Earl’s insistence that he just prefers empty cardboard boxes and random pieces of plastic, Chris likes to buy him new toys and claims her paycheques go to supporting his extravagant lifestyle. Chris’ unique talent is her ability to take naps anytime and anywhere.
